Finalement ce que je retiens de Luxor c'est quand visitant les temples et les tombeaux des pharaons, on n'assiste pas à une histoire figée mais bien au passage des différentes civilisations. Les rois eux-mêmes modifiaient les constructions en ajoutant ou en enlevant des statues ou encore en effaçant le nom du prédécesseur pour mettre le leur en plus grand. Puis les romains sont arrivés et ont récupéré ce qui les intéressaient, après ça, ce sont les chrétiens qui ont réaménagé les temples en église, les arabes ont suivi et fait de même et enfin les "re-découvreurs" ont gravé leurs noms dans la pierre! Que d'histoire!
What I will remember of Luxor is that by visiting the temples and the tombs of the pharaohs, you won't witness a frozen history but the comings and goings of many civilizations. The Kings themselves would modify the buildings by adding or removing statues or erasing the name of the predecessor to write their in much bigger. Then the Romans arrived and took what they found interesting, after that the Christians transformed the temples in churches, then a bit later on the Arabs did the same and finally the "re-discoverers" carved their names in the stone! So much history!
